Batch Starting Sunday, January 30, 2011 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM IST

You may be aware that Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is actively pursuing the adoption of XBRL enabled filing process in MCA 21 and a notification to this effect is expected in near future. Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has also embarked upon developing a Platform for XBRL based filing from all listed Companies in India. RBI has already started implementing XBRL based reporting by Banks and has plans to convert all external reporting by banks on XBRL over the next couple of years.

XBRL stands for eXtensible Business Reporting Language. It is one of the family of XML languages which is becoming a standard means of communicating financial and business information between businesses and over the internet. XBRL is the emerging language for electronic communication of business and financial data which is revolutionizing business reporting around the world. XBRL enhances the usability and transparency of financial information reported under existing accounting standards and simplifies disclosure and allows users to communicate financial information accurately.

Takshila Learning Pvt. Ltd. and NextGen Knowledge Solutions Private Ltd. are pleased to announce Training Course on XBRL to foster the understanding and gain unique experience of Financial Reporting through XBRL. The course is ideal for Finance Professionals who wish to obtain a first movers advantage in terms of a new area of professional opportunity.

XBRL Opportunities

India is already a hot destination for XBRL data conversion work. A major portion of US Securities & Exchange Commission filing work is being outsourced to India. It is expected that a substantial portion of iXBRL data conversion work for UK Her Majesty Revenues & Customs (HMRC) filing will also be outsourced to India. Large MNCs such as Merrill IT, RR Donnelley & Aptara have set up their offices in India for XBRL data conversion work. These companies will need over 1,000 Finance Professionals with knowledge of XBRL for US SEC & UK HMRC filing work in next two years.

There will be an opportunity for the domestic XBRL data conversion work also in near future once Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Securities & Exchange Board of India implement XBRL based reporting by Indian Companies.
